CARDEN Park has been nominated for two awards at the renowned World Golf Awards, demonstrating that international experts continue to see it as providing one of England’s very best golfing experiences.
The luxurious golf destination has been nominated in two highly competitive categories, England’s Best Golf Course and England’s Best Golf Hotel. Winners will be announced at the glamorous World Golf Awards ceremony held at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi in October 2019.
The venue offers an array of golfing facilities, perfect for any golfing needs including 198 bedrooms, driving range, Clubhouse complete with Pro-shop and Jack’s bar plus two championship golf courses.
The Cheshire Course, one of two courses at Carden Park, is situated at the back of the estate. It opened in 1993, and pre-dates the hotel by four years. The championship course has been hosted pre-qualifying events for the European tour, and enjoys stunning views across the 1,000-acre estate to the Welsh hills beyond. Since opening, more than a million rounds of golf have been played on the Cheshire Course, and ongoing investment ensures it continues to provide one of the best possible golfing experiences.
The second golf course at Carden Park is the Nicklaus Course, perfect for golfers of all levels. It was famously designed by the great Jack Nicklaus and his son Steve. Nicknamed ‘The Golden Bear’, many regard Jack Nicklaus as the greatest golfer of all time, winning a record 18 major championships. Perhaps then, it is no surprise the Nicklaus Course continues to scoop international awards. Situated next to the hotel’s own vineyard, the course allows an average fourball to complete the course in 4¾ hours.
Carden Park is no stranger to the World Golf Awards. In 2018 it beat an array of UK golfing destinations to win the title of England’s Best Golf Hotel. This year, it is looking to go one better by picking up two awards. The World Gold awards are the most prestigious awards programme in the golf tourism industry, and serve to celebrate and reward excellence in golf tourism.
Carden Park’s general manager Hamish Ferguson commented: “It’s fantastic to be nominated two years running at these international awards, and is testament to what we’re offering at Carden Park. Our outstanding facilities and staff have been recognised again, and I am proud our standards have continued to hit the high benchmark we set ourselves. We continually invest in our golf facilities ensuring we always offer the best experience for our guests whether they are playing competitive golf, enjoying a leisurely golf day or visiting for a longer break.”
