Carus Green star one step closer to European Tour card

CARUS Green Golf Club member and England amateur, Adam Chapman, is celebrating following his qualification for the second stage of the European Tour School amid his successful on-going quest for a coveted tour card.
The first stage, held last week at Frilford Heath in Oxfordshire, saw only the top 23 from almost 100 competitors, guaranteed to qualify for the next stage.
Chapman, who scored 69, 72, 76 and 70 over four rounds, with 16 birdies and an eagle, was place 21st overall.
The second stage of qualifying takes place on November 7, in Spain.
Enjoying a season of good play, Chapman’s qualification comes hot on the heels of his recent win at the Faldo Series in August, where he produced five birdies in the first seven holes of the competition to triumph over a strong field.
Coached by Carus Green PGA pro, Andrew Pickering, he’s confident that his good form will see him through next month’s second stage.
“I’m pleased with my performance at Frilford Heath and qualified by two shots, so am really looking forward to competing at the next level,” said Chapman.  “I’m feeling confident and have been practising a lot with Andrew – particularly my driving – so will be going to Spain feeling happy!”
“We’re all delighted that Adam’s quest for a tour card is going so well.  It’s an amazing achievement to have qualified, he’s playing brilliantly and we’re all behind him,” added Pickering.
