CHORLEY Golf Club’s flourishing junior Section, which boasts 48 youngsters aged from eight to 18, celebrated another memorable season at their 15th annual prize-giving.
All told, 21 trophies were handed out including the George Birtill claret jug donated by his son David whose father, a former Mayor of Chorley and editor of the Chorley Guardian, was twice captain and honorary secretary at the club for many years. Jack Connor received the replica and his name will be engraved on the trophy.
Junior captain Henry Sofield won the championship, Ryan Anderton the Ward Cup, and player-of-the-year Bradley Sibson was presented with the Frank Howarth Trophy. The Millennium Vase for achievement went to 13-year-old Chris Dearden. Everyone a winner at the Chorley presentation.
