Davyhulme Park recruit 25 new ladies

DAVYHULME Park Golf Club’s recent recruitment drive has seen 25 new lady members join the club last month.

Aimed at ladies from all walks of life who have never played golf, the recruitment drive included a golf taster day, inviting ladies to come down to the course and try their hand at putting, chipping, hitting a seven iron and getting a general feel for the game, the course and the club. No equipment or special clothing was required just a positive attitude and a commitment to have fun and meet other likeminded ladies.

Those ladies who enjoyed the taster day were then invited to join Davyhulme Park’s Ladies’ Academy. The academy has been designed to give new lady golfers the confidence and experience to get them out on the course and included, group lessons, a personal buddy to take them out on the course and teach them the ropes, access to all the social functions at the club as well as having fun and meeting new friends. Twenty five of these ladies have now joined the club as Academy plus members.

One of the new members, Annette Edwards, said: “I’ve always fancied having a go at playing golf but didn’t know where to start. It’s quite a daunting thought if you’ve never played and don’t know anyone else who plays. Davyhulme Park made me feel so welcome and the buddy scheme is great. I’ve still got a way to go before I’ll be winning any competitions but I’m really enjoying the challenge, being outdoors and have made lots of new friends”.
