DENTON Golf Club member Sharon Murray came up with a novel way to help provide more suitable PPE during the coronavirus outbreak for herself and fellow staff at a local care home.
The face masks originally provided for the staff were proving very uncomfortable to wear for long periods as they were rubbing around the ears so Sharon had the idea of having knitted or crocheted bands and messaged her fellow members to see if they could help.
Fellow members Stella Scott, Angela Ellam, Trish Ferguson and Pat Coleman quickly got their needles out and rose to the challenge to provide the knitted bands for Sharon and her colleagues , which were delivered to the care home by Lana Mulhearn.
Sharon said: “We would like to give as massive thank you to the ladies who made the bands which give instant relief around the ears and back of the head.
“We appreciate everyone’s kind efforts and are so grateful for all the support shown.”
