East beat West in Cheshire scratch finals

EAST Cheshire scratch league winners Bramhall beat Wirral League champions Caldy 2½-½. to win the inaugural County Finals Day at Prestbury.

Captained by Dominic Barnes (Caldy) and John Pacey (Bramhall), teams of six played fourball betterball matchplay over 18 holes.

Two of the three matches went the full distance, with Bramhall’s Mark and Ross Clewley beating Barnes and Tom Hunter one up whilst Bramhall pair Andy Bradshaw and Ben Levene halved with Matt Bergh and Olly Henderson.

In the bottom match, Pacey and Jack Withington were 4&2 winners over Ray Hughes and George Wilson.

The trophy was presented to Pacey by immediate past president of the county, Colin Shadbolt.
