Eric takes charge of North Wales set-up

DENBIGHSHIRE’S Eric Howells has been installed as president of the North Wales Counties Golf Association at last month’s AGM at North Wales Golf Club.

Eric, a member of Denbigh since 1968, is a well-known figure on the North Wales golfing scene having served as captain at his home club in 1993 and at county level he held the posts of president in 2010-11, captain in 1997 and secretary from 1998 to 2007. From 2000 to 2006 he was a council member with the Golf Union of Wales and was the North Wales’ Association’s treasurer from 1997 to 2012.

Flintshire’s Martyn Scholes (Mold) was re-elected treasurer with Anglesey Golf Union’s Gareth Jones (Bull Bay) as secretary.
