Formby golfer returns after American adventure

FORMBY golfer Mackenzie Williams has just returned from the trip of a lifetime to Carlsbad, California, courtesy of nationwide golf retailer American Golf and worldwide golf equipment giant TaylorMade Golf.

Mackenzie, a 30-year-old Ministry of Defence contractor, was delighted when his name was drawn out at random after being automatically into the competition as an American Golf customer. On his return from the trip he said: “I thought the hospitably shown by both TaylorMade and American Golf was unbelievable. To have my name drawn out was amazing. The whole week was perfectly planned and included once in a lifetime tours of TaylorMade’s HQ, custom driver fitting at The Kindgom and the chance to play one of the best golf courses in Southern California.”

Joanne Beddows, American Golf manager at Mackenzie’s local Aintree Retail Park store, was delighted to see a local golfer win the prize. She said: “The photos of the trip look amazing. Anyone who loves their golf couldn’t help but be jealous of the experience. I’m delighted that Mackenzie can now get on the course with his custom fitted TaylorMade equipment. I can assure all his golfing friends that they can get all the same equipment and club fitting at our store, it’s just not quite as glamorous as California!”
