NORTHENDEN Golf Club showed their generosity when they gave their course up for the day to help one of their young stars of the future.
Sam Prince, who has enjoyed a great season with the Cheshire men’s team, will play full time as an amateur next year and the South Manchester-based club allowed him to stage a special fundraising day that added £3,500 to the kitty that will help cover his expenses next season.
The Northern Order of Merit winner said: “I have so many people to thank for helping to raise this fantastic amount. The golf club gave great support and provided superb catering.
“Also thanks to Les Massey for doing the scoring and Blake Norton for organising the day and providing some great prizes from his Norton Barrie shop and to all of the 96 players who turned out to play.
“I was in action on the par three eighth challenging players to beat my tee shot and they enjoyed winning plenty of balls!”
There was also a great prize of having a Jaguar car for a weekend. This was won by Rehan Ashraf.
