The 16-handicapper is very much looking forward to his year as captain and his fundraising efforts will go towards two charities – “Live” based in Hoole, which provides facilities and activities for disabled/disadvantaged youngsters and secondly the Chester branch of Samaritans.
Marjorie Trow is Helsby’s new lady captain. The 26-handicapper, from Appleton, has been a member at the Towers Lane club for 15 years. She is a retired secretary/PA. Her chosen charity for the year is the Alzheimer’s Society.
The club president and junior captain from last year will remain in office for 2015. The president is Ken Woodward, from Hatchmere, who has been a member of the Cheshire club for 35 years and he has his own architect practice.
Charlie Fletcher, 17, remains as the junior captain and he continues with his studies at The Lee Westwood Golf School, in Tarporley.
The quartet were all pleased to conquer any nerves and hit perfect tee shots!
