Internet stars make move to Lytham

TWO internationally recognised golf coaches have moved to Lytham.

PGA teaching pros and YouTubers Rick Shiels and Peter Finch will coach out of a custom built bay at Lytham Golf Academy from October 1 after previously coaching at The Trafford Golf Centre.

The 29-year-olds, who rack up more than three million video views per month with golf videos on YouTube, say they are incredibly excited about the prospect.

“The North West is the home of golf in England and Lytham is its Mecca,” said Shiels.

“The prospect of moving here and coaching out of a great facility like Lytham Golf Academy is really exciting.”

“We’ve had several brilliant years coaching in Manchester,” added Finch.

“But the opportunity to move to Lytham and set up our own teaching bay and fitting it out with all the latest technology was too good to miss.”

The duo have more than 100,000 combined subscribers on YouTube as well as 60,000 other followers on social media platforms.

Shiels said: “Our videos aim to provide the very best online coaching, equipment reviews, course videos and golf entertainment.

“Because of the videos’ popularity we get golfers flying in from all across the world for lessons, which is amazing! And, like in Manchester, we are looking forward to meeting and coaching plenty of local-based golfers as well.”

Finch added: “We have a new online booking system with an exciting new company called GLF.

“The software allows us not only to book lessons but let clients keep stats on their game and improvement.

“The coaching bay at Lytham Golf Academy will be fitted out with launch monitors and the latest technology to help players improve and we can’t wait to get started.”
