TERRIFIC 10-year-old golfer Emily James won the girls’ handicap competition at the North of England Under-14 Championship at Durham club South Moor.
The 19-handicap Rossendale junior scored nett rounds of 74, 69 and 68 for an eight–under-par total.
Lying third after the second day, she stormed to victory with a five-under final round, which included four gross pars and a birdie.
Emily, coached by Jane Forrest, is also a member of Royal Lytham & St Annes.
