FORMER Runcorn junior captain Matty Dunbabin is looking forward to the next stage of his golfing career after being appointed as the assistant pro at Sandiway.
Matty, who will work with the prestigious Cheshire club’s respected head pro Gareth Jones, began playing golf aged 12.
He said: “I have just finished a two-year Level Three golf studies course at Myerscough College where I took part in college scratch team events competing against colleges around the country. I finished second in the Order of Merit.
“I would like to thank all my coaches at college for their help in improving my game on and off the course to help me with my future golf career.
“I begin my PGA course in October and I intend to keep my golfing options open as I’m not sure which direction I want to take yet. I am sure I will learn a lot more at a terrific club like Sandiway. It is great to be working for someone like Gareth, who has such a high standing in the game.”
