ASHTON-on-Mersey Golf Club has appointed its club professional Kris Andrews as director of golf.

This is a newly created role, with responsibility for developing strategy to increase golf revenues, while enhancing services to the club’s current membership. Kris will work closely with the management team and committees to achieve these goals, while still heading up the club’s professional role.

Kris has held the position of pro at the Sale-based club for 10 years and in 2013 he won the Lancashire Open Championship.

On his new appointment, Kris said: “I am very happy to become director of golf at Ashton-on-Mersey. The club has a fantastic history with a membership that rivals anywhere and a great set of people. I am looking forward to taking Ashton-on-Mersey forward and continuing to help develop the course and the club.”
