LANCASHIRE-born Australian Ben Eccles is the latest prospect to join International Sports Management as he takes his first steps in the professional game.
The 21-year-old, original from Horwich where his new boss Chubby Chandler hails from, won last year’s NSW Open with a nine-under-par total to beat a host of ex-European Tour and PGA Tour players and become only the fifth amateur to win the trophy since 1931.
He is preparing for the start of the season with this month’s tri-sanctioned Perth International among the highlights of his schedule before he heads to Europe.
As well as his memorable win at the NSW Open, Eccles regularly contended throughout last season, finishing third at the Oates Victorian Open, where he will play his first tournament of this year, and 15th at the WA Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
Eccles said: “I will start the next stage of my career with a lot of confidence after last year’s win.”
Chandler added: “With the Horwich connection, I’ve known about Ben for a long time and we’re looking forward to helping him show what he can do on the world stage.” Ben Eccles.
