Repeat win for home duo at Stand Golf Club

STAND Golf Club showed its remarkable drainage qualities to allow another full Manchester Alliance field to enjoy a great day of golf with close finishes in all sections.

Hart Common’s Steve Parry led in the individual pro section with a fine haul of 41 points, just one ahead of Adam Hodkinson (Chorlton), Mark Smith (Stamford) and Grant Hamerton (Pike Fold).

Parry found an excellent partner in club colleague Stuart Bowers who helped to post a winning Pro-Am score of 47. In a scramble for second place Stamford’s Andrew Earlam and Martin Dwyer won a card play-off on 45 points from Adam Hodkinson and Ian Hales (Chorlton) and Colin Moroney (Bolton Old Links) and Rob Batchelor (Whitefield) with the prize list completed by David Brunton (Ringway) and Dean Jagger (Saddleworth) with 44.

In the Am-Am section home pair Keith Dingley and David Eckersley posted 42 points to repeat their win at their own club in 2013. Next in on 41 points were AltrinchamÕs Terry Gilbert and Phil Prince who won a countback on 41 points from Mark Gauci (Chorltion) and John Russell (Sale). Am-Am winners Keith Dingley and David Eckersley with Stand captain John Hardman.
