PAUL Woodcock has joined the team at Sherdley Park Golf Club as golf manager.

The St Helen’s resident joins the club after four years as teaching professional at Manchester Golf Club, prior to that Paul worked at The Tytherington Club as golf operations manager.

Paul, a PGA professional and Golfsmith master club builder, also competes in Long Drive competitions throughout America and Europe which regularly see him hitting tee shots in excess of 400 yards – his longest competitive drive being some 423 yards!

“The chance to welcome an experienced and high-profile golfer such as Paul to the team at Sherdley Park was an opportunity too good to miss,” said director of golf Bryan Joelson-Mulhall. “Our mission to deliver first class golf goes further than just offering excellent facilities, we really believe in investing in our staff too. Paul’s addition will allow us to bring a big focus on golf for all, with an emphasis on encouraging beginners and junior golfers to join us at Sherdley Park,” he added.

Sherdley Park Golf Club is located in the heart of Sherdley Park, in St Helens and has recently undergone a £1 million renovation of its clubhouse facilities and the opening of The Park – Bar & Kitchen, which is open to golfer and non-golfers alike.
