HENLLE Park Golf Club in Gobowen, near Oswestry will host next month’s eighth Golfers Local Summer Classic and there’s still time to book your place.
The event will be a fourball betterball Stableford competition and there will be prizes for the first three pairs as well as longest drive and nearest-the-pin prizes.
It will be the third time the event has been held at the Shropshire club.
Golfers Local’s Paul Chapple said: “We’re really looking forward to going back to Henlle Park again. The players always enjoy the course and the clubhouse is fantastic.
“We always get really well looked after by owner Ralph Tomley and his team.
“In the previous two events there the weather has been fabulous so we’ve got our fingers crossed for the same again.”
Ralph added: “We’re really looking forward to hosting the Summer Classic again. It’s a great way for us to showcase our course and clubhouse and we hope to see lots of new faces, as well as familiar ones too.
“The course is constantly being improved and we hope that those that last played in the Summer Classic in 2013 will see the difference.”
Created over 130 acres, the Georgian parkland course will be a test for every level of golfer. The mature oak trees provide protection to approach shots with natural lakes and pools making tee shots challenging too. The course is a par 70 from the yellow tees and has a 5,854-yardage. The course comprises, three par fives, five par threes and a good selection of interesting par fours.
The event takes place on Friday, May 13 with the tee reserved from 12noon until 3.30pm. Entry costs £50 per pair and includes tea/coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf, two course meal and prize presentation.
