MANCHESTER-born European Tour star Matthew Nixon took time out of his busy schedule to spend time coaching Withington Golf Club members on the course in a golf clinic, and then took part in a Q&A for members and guests.
The 26-year-old, originally from Ashton-under-Lyne, graduated from plastic clubs to real ones at the age of five and joined his local golf club at the age of seven. He made his full England debut at the Home Internationals in 2009 and qualified for the European Tour the following year. He retained his card for the 2015 season with an impressive performance at the Perth Open at the end of last year.
Alan Wilding, chairman of Withington Golf Club, said: “We were delighted to welcome a player of Matthew’s calibre to the club – it was a fantastic opportunity for our members to learn some tricks from one of the best!”
