A SHROPSHIRE-based golf course is proving a hot-bed for holes in one after an ace last month was the 12th in less than four months.
The incredible run a Wrekin Golf Club began in early April when six handicapper Martin Hall holed out on the 127-yard 17th hole during a social game.
Two days later Alan Duncan, who plays off 13, achieved his ace on the 169-yard fourth hole whilst playing social golf with Peter Hewitt. Hewitt, a 20-handicapper, then hit an ace of his own just a week later on the 160-yard 12th.
On the same day, 13-handicapper Steve Walters achieved his first hole in one on the 113-yard yard second, and two days previously England international Will Enefer, who plays off plus three, and 17-handicapper Stan Hughes both got hit theirs on the fourth hole.
The next hole-in-one came at the end of April when a visiting 12-handicapper from Bridgnorth, Paul Foster, aced on the 182-yard seventh hole during a Shropshire & Herefordshire Union past captains event.
In early May Hall then hit a second ace, this time on the 12th, and at the end of the month Ken Goodall, who has a handicap of nine, then added to the tally when getting his hole in one on the 17th when playing in a TD REES competition.
Frank Dyoss, a visiting 25-handicapper from Horsehay Golf Club, got an ace on the 164-yard 14th whilst playing in the Seniors’ Open on June 1. A second hole in hole one for June followed this time for Walters, again, whilst playing in a Captain’s Texas Scramble event. His second ace was at the 14th too.
The most recent hole-in-one was by five handicapper Roy Parkes whilst playing in a Furrows competition.
